Summary https://youtu.be/6mqo3Vbu4sQ Another NEMA 17 stepper motor-based extruder mount is proposed, similar to the Airtripper V3 design. The previous design, found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:764739, utilized common kitchen sponges but they eventually hardened and vibrations returned. This new mount employs suspension principles, similar to high-end studio mic holders. Silicone "Bottle holders" are used for this purpose, as well as any stretchy loop that maintains its elasticity over time. Check out the video for the results of using this mount to eliminate extruder sound. UPDATE: V2: The cage is now square, allowing it to be printed standing upright or mounted on its side. The mounting flange has been adjusted to accommodate additional mounting positions. Print Settings Printer: Creatornator Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: Any Infill: Any Notes: This prints easily in PLA and shouldn't require support, as long as the printer can handle a basic bridge.
