You need: 1 M8 threaded rod (~34 cm), 4 M8 nuts, and 2 printed parts. Optional: an M8x1.5 tap, which could also be tapped with the threaded rod. Anet A8 A simple anti-twist exoskeleton for the Z axis, which could also benefit XY. I really loved aeropic's designs, but 6mm threaded bolts are not stiff enough. For the Z-antiwobble exoskeleton, 6mm is the only option, but for the anti-twist 8 mm is no problem. So I designed this part for the holes on the vertical acrylic side panels of Anet A8. It's a really simple part and a simple mod. It acts like a torsion bar in a car suspension, so I assume that a 90 degree rotation between the plastic parts could benefit both XY, but I greatly doubt that this would be observed during printing. Nevertheless, it's another mod to make the printer a little bit stiffer, and since overall cost is around 1 euro, it doesn't bother me being there. In the one I've printed, I tried two dimensions. The uploaded design has the right tolerances. I used HIPS plastic (High Impact Polystyrene) because I want to get rid of it due to warping issues. PLA would be the same. I love simple designs, so enjoy!
