Anti-tangle Spool Filament Clip

Anti-tangle Spool Filament Clip

thingiverse

This is my innovative filament clip design, engineered to prevent filament tangling at the spool's end, with effortless removal and addition capabilities. The design seamlessly integrates within the spool itself, eliminating the risk of it popping off when storing. To insert the filament, simply pinch the two sides together until the holes align, then feed it through, followed by placing it inside the spool where it should grip tightly to prevent movement. I have included a comprehensive list of widths tailored to fit various filament spools from leading manufacturers. Additionally, I have provided the Fusion 360 file (along with step files for those who may find them useful) to enable users to create custom widths according to their needs. As I continue to encounter new spool sizes, I will update this design accordingly, and I am open to incorporating user requests. The inner spool width variable is the only setting that requires adjustment in Fusion. Exporting the design as an STL file should then automatically adjust to fit this dimension. I have included a visual guide illustrating how to measure the inner spool width. For those interested, I have also shared my PrusaSlicer settings for added convenience.
