Anti-Tangle Filament Spool Holder
prusaprinters
<h4>Features:</h4> <ul> <li>Includes an extra 3rd roller on top of the spool. This prevents the filament from hopping over the edge of the spool if there is slack, which would lead to the filament getting tangled. This was inspired by <a href="https://www.youmagine.com/designs/filament-spool-holder-for-3d-printer">Mark Rehorst's spool holder</a>.</li> <li>The filament can be routed between the bottom rollers, rather than over the front roller. If there is a slight snag in the filament, the 3D printer's extruder will pull the filament into the bottom rollers and may be able to undo the snag, rather than just pulling the spool off of the spool holder. The frame has a guard to prevent the filament or bowden tube from rubbing on the front roller.<br/> (Routing the filament over the front roller will still work if that is preferred)</li> <li>The shell of each roller is printed separately in vase mode so that there will not be any z-seams on the outside surface.</li> <li>Compatible with spools with a diameter of 145-210mm and a max width of 90mm.</li> </ul> <h3>Print instructions</h3><h3>Bill of Materials:</h3> <h4>Printed Parts:</h4> <table> <thead><tr> <th>Name</th> <th>Quantity</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr> <td>Roller Shell</td> <td>3</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Roller Core - Left</td> <td>3</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Roller Core - Right</td> <td>3</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Arm</td> <td>2</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Bearing Retainer</td> <td>2</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Right Frame</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Left Frame</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Front Brace</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Rear Brace</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Arm Mount</td> <td>1</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <h4>Hardware:</h4> <table> <thead><tr> <th>Name</th> <th>Quantity</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr> <td>M3x10 socket head cap screw</td> <td>6</td> </tr> <tr> <td>M3x14 socket head cap screw</td> <td>4</td> </tr> <tr> <td>M3x18 socket head cap screw (M3x20 also works)</td> <td>2</td> </tr> <tr> <td>M3x20 socket head cap screw</td> <td>3</td> </tr> <tr> <td>M3 hex nut</td> <td>8</td> </tr> <tr> <td>M3 locknut</td> <td>7</td> </tr> <tr> <td>608 bearing</td> <td>6</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <hr/> <h3>Recommended Print Settings:</h3> <p>Material: PETG (other materials might work too)</p> <p>3mf files are included for printing on the Prusa MK3/S with the settings below already applied. The modifier should set perimeters to 10.</p>
