Filler is great. I used it with this so that I can use it on the side of my CR-10S Pro V2 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4896978 However, since I used bolts, it sagged with the weight of the filament. This piece here helped straighten the filament as seen in the photo. I also have an old smartband strap that keeps the filament spool from falling down.
