A spring-loaded rod cover (RC) for Makerbot printers helps to prevent X rods from rattling and vibrating, reducing noise levels. After printing one of these, the noise seemed reduced, but further updates are pending after installing the remaining three. An update confirmed that while rattling wasn't entirely eliminated, it was significantly quieter. As an alternative, wrapping thin tape around the smooth X rod ends for a snug fit in the plywood body could be tried. Printed with default ReplicatorG 0018 settings, using 230 extruder and 120 platform temperature.
