A printable template, compatible with BFB 3000 and 3D Touch waste bin rods, prevents molten plastic from adhering to the hot end during warm-ups. Design parameters are based on the highest pins' center distance on the printer (69.8mm). The brass shim (0.10" thick) is fastened with two 6-32 screws and features a notch for hot end parking position during purge cycles. Aesthetically, button head self-cutting screws could enhance appearance. Ensure adequate fan clearance, as fan placements may vary across BFB printers. An added underside piece maintains stability; it attaches beneath the existing template. Note potential clearance issues and manually check carriage movement before installation.
