Anti-Mine Land Urchin

Anti-Mine Land Urchin

thingiverse

After the war Ukraine will be dealing with the landmine issue for years. My small contribution to helping with this effort is the device shown, which I call the Land Urchin. It consists of 3D printed parts that are used to hold 5/16" diameter 48" long fiberglass driveway markers. The idea is that the unit is assembled and chucked into a field suspected to have land mines. Over time wind will naturally cause it to stumble around the field. Once it sets off a land mine the remnants of the device would serve as a warning that other landmines could potentially be near by. Designed to use about two rolls of PETG filament as well as 42 driveway markers. Total unit cost (plus glue) should be around $60-80USD. This design is currently untested and should be considered a work in progress until further notice.
