Anti-Jam Guide for Printrbot Alum Extruder

Anti-Jam Guide for Printrbot Alum Extruder

thingiverse

I created this fix to prevent the filament from pushing out of the hobbed gear in my Printrbot's Aluminum Extruder on my Simple Metal. This solution completely resolved my problem with premature filament ejection during prints, although some argue that heat causes the filament to warp out, I firmly believe it's due to coiling. Make sure to choose an STL file specifically designed for mounting to either the right or left side of your extruder. Instructions I printed this at a layer thickness of 0.2mm with a fill density of 100%. To implement the fix, simply release the screw holding the feed bearing in place and then reattach it, sandwiching the Anti-Jam Guide between the bearing and the extruder. Remember to mirror these steps if your bearing screw is located on the left side.
