Anti-bending block for X axis motor mount in Tevo Tarantula/HOMERS ODYSSEUS
thingiverse
Because after I mounted a tensioner for X-axis belt I noticed that motor mount was bent and the belt was rubbing against aluminum profile I decided to fix it and that's how I made this simple element holding the motor in good position. I did not notice much improvement in prints quality but it should extend the life of the belt, plastic holding the motor and probably stepper motor.
Mounting:
This should be bolted on, while tilting the motor slightly the other way and pressing the piece against the aluminum profile. The timing belt and pulley must be removed for installation. Thanks to enlarged bolt holes they can be slightly adjusted up and down, in original motor mount they can also be moved sideways. So this should work well even with small differences in print or druck.
Additional parts needed:
2 x M3x25 screw I can reccomend 3 or more shells and high infill percentage with cubic pattern. If you make this project share it in the comments or "Post a make". I will be happy if it works for you :). You can also "buy me a few grams of filament" through a tip ;).
