Anti backlash Z isolator for 3D printers
thingiverse
This design addresses wobble on the hotend due to an unstraight z-rod. It prevents both nut backlash and x/y movement of the z-rod, with an optional improvement. To assemble the z-isolator, you'll need 2 printed parts, 4 M8 nuts, and 2 springs. First, drill your x-ends to allow for x/y z-rod movement. Then, install z-constraints at the top of the z-rod (e.g., thing:9864). Finally, place the printed z-isolator below your current x-ends or install flexible z-couplers as an alternative solution.
