Anti-backlash Z-Axis nut trap
thingiverse
This reliable anti-backlash z-axis nut trap replaces outdated wooden nut traps found in MakerFarm Prusa i3v systems, providing an upgraded solution for smooth z-axis performance. After experiencing persistent issues with my own z-axis due to runaway M5 nuts, I knew it was time for a change - specifically one that would restore my machine's calibration precision and dependability. Since swapping this part out, my printer has benefited from significantly improved homing and positioning accuracy, all thanks to the solid design of this replacement component. The instructions are simple: before you get started, simply detach the z-axis motors from the threaded rod. With the motor out of the way, the new nut trap can be guided effortlessly into its proper position within your machine's framework. As soon as this part is properly installed, the entire assembly takes on a sleeker appearance, and you'll notice that the old wooden z-axis guide now covers up all evidence of the z-axis nut. It effectively seals the component away from view - giving users even greater assurance of precise print settings.
