To save money on anti-backlash threads/nuts for my CNC mill build, I opted for affordable 1/2" threads from Bunnings. I designed a cost-effective alternative using two 1/2" nuts and a spring from an old office printer (diameter around 16mm). The .skp file contains exact dimensions. Adjust the spring length carefully to avoid excessive tension, and secure with mounting fixings. This makeshift system reduces play but requires further testing.
