Antenna spool
thingiverse
I'm building a compact travel antenna spool for my radio kit. The kit consists of a spool, a mini carabiner, and a protective spool cover. To create this spool, I designed it using ABS material to ensure its strength and ease of assembly with adhesive. First, print the two main components of the spool. Then, apply acetone to act as an adhesive between them. Press the parts firmly together, and use a vapour smoother to seal any gaps. This process effectively bonds the two pieces. Next, print the remaining two elements of the kit as per normal printing procedures. The spool cover is designed to slide smoothly over the antenna wire, preventing it from unwinding accidentally. To achieve the desired outcome, I set my hotend temperature to 245 degrees and my build surface at 90 degrees.
