Antenna Mast from Tripod and Fishing Pole
thingiverse
I crafted these components to securely attach my 20-foot Shakespeare fishing rod to a $20 Home Depot tripod (Husky #K9028). I carefully removed the inner pole through the bottom and severed the threaded plastic pieces at the top of the outer pole. The tripod base features a hole that can be threaded with a 10-24 screw to firmly secure it at the base of the tripod. The tripod head slides over the top of the tripod pole, providing a snug fit. I designed both internal and external components to fit securely, enhancing overall rigidity. I cut approximately 29 inches of 1.5-inch schedule 40 PVC pipe to encase both parts. The fishing rod slips into the top of the PVC pipe. Two identical pole_top_half components are used to secure the pole within the PVC. I printed both parts simultaneously, and they feature a hole for a 10-24 screw. To prepare the hole for threading, I used a tap. I have included the SCAD file for you to modify it according to your specific requirements. Next time, I plan to create my own tripod from scratch.
