The core problem of this challenge is the current rope system used to align and lock the segments lose its tension over some period of time and that is the main reason this challenge exists. Any linkage system that is used will lose it property after some time because that is just nature of materials when constant force is applied on it. The main thing we should ask is how we can prolong the performance of the linkage system which this design perfectly answers. In this design the locking system have 12 cycle of life span which renews its surface when wear due to impact happens in its surface by using a gear system to change its alignment on some period of time depending on damage prediction calculation. The system only takes very negligible power to change the alignment because it only works one in a very long time. This is perfect for situations where maintainace is hard to reach environment.
