The antefissa is round in shape and represents the face of the Gorgone* surrounded by a hairdo depicted with curls in small molded pieces. It has bulging, prominent eyes, a straight nose, an open, grinning mouth, a completely protruding tongue, and flapping ears. A crown of sinuous serpents is pictured around its head.
