Antec 900 902 1200 front fan mount bracket

Resigned fan mounting bracket designed for Antec 900, 902, and 1200 series cases allows older models to stay relevant. The need to upgrade fans due to age prompted this project, as the original fans no longer meet performance requirements. A decision was made to retain a 120mm fan size while incorporating an addressable RGB ring around its perimeter. The original Antec brackets feature a circular opening for airflow but lack any additional functionality. They are designed with the original adjustable speed fan in mind and include a mount for the adjustment knob. Modern fans, however, are controlled directly from the motherboard rather than receiving power from a molex connector. To accommodate this change, the bracket was redesigned to allow a simple 120mm fan to be bolted on from behind. The original Antec front grills can then be reused and mounted to the front of the new bracket. The original fan brackets are prone to breaking where screws thread in to secure fans. This design eliminates that mounting method entirely. The result leaves the intake side front of the fan completely exposed, allowing RGB lighting to shine through unobstructed. A potential downside is the loss of the original intake fan filters. However, a creative solution can be implemented by adding a filter between the grill and the fan. The fan attaches to the bracket using four fan screws provided with most 120mm fans. The grills then secure to the bracket with small black screws, after which the assembly slides into the case and is mounted with original thumb screws or other drive bay screws. Photos of the updated design will be uploaded once new fans are installed and available for display.
