Antarctica 3D model laser cut - No ice
thingiverse
Human: Laser-cut layers made from 3mm MDF are carefully crafted to bring Antarctica's landmass to life without the ice. Check out the companion model showcasing Antarctica with its icy coat at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3534623 - Two copies of each layer are included, totaling 13 distinct layers. - Each layer features a defined outline of the one above it, making stacking and gluing together seamless. - PVA glue is used to securely attach the layers. When cut with a 3mm MDF design at a 1:750,000 scale and featuring approximately 150:1 vertical exaggeration, this model offers stunning detail. A helpful tip: cutting out the center of each layer can significantly reduce weight and material usage. This project was featured in the Antarctic Footprints exhibition.
