Ant Trap Feeder for poison
thingiverse
I modified the bottle cap ant trap by Drelen, adapting it for use without a cap since I don't have suitable caps on hand. The simple design of this device features a cover that shields the liquid poison from rain and sunlight, slowing down evaporation. To create a well for the ants to access easily, I added a sloping bottom to the middle of the base. I utilize the name brand sweet borax liquid available at local home stores. Cleaning up and refilling is straightforward with a little water. Update: Ants have built an extensive network to reach the poison feeders, prompting multiple refills as the poison seems ineffective against PLA. Update May 2018: A request led me to redesign the device to prevent bee access to the borax solution. I added a higher pot to bring it closer to the top, effectively sealing off the opening from bees.
