Ant Trap Feeder for poison

I crafted the bottle cap ant trap by Drelen, and tweaked its design for use without a bottle cap since I didn't have suitable containers on hand. The simple layout with a cover to shield the liquid poison from rain and sunlight was appealing - it slowed down evaporation significantly. To create a miniature well for ants to access easily, I added a bottom to the middle of the base and angled it downward. For this project, I used name-brand sweet borax liquid readily available at local home stores. Cleaning up and refilling the trap is straightforward with minimal water. Update - Ants have established an impressive highway system leading directly to the poison feeders. Refills are necessary more frequently now, and the poison seems to be having no impact on the PLA material. Update May 2018 - I received a request for a smaller opening to prevent bees from reaching the borax solution. To address this concern, I designed an additional bottom with a higher container that brings it closer to the top, effectively blocking bee access.
