Ant Trap Feeder for poison
prusaprinters

I took the bottle cap ant trap by Drelen, and modified it slightly for use without a bottle cap, since I don't really have anything with suitable bottle caps. I really liked the simple design with the cover to keep the rain out and the sun off the liquid poison so it didn't evaporate as quickly. I just added a bottom to the middle of the base and sloped it downward to make a little poison well the ant's can easily access. I use the name brand sweet borax liquid found at your local home store. Clean up and refill is easy enough with a little water.

Update - Ants have made a superhighway to the poison feeders. I've had to refill several times and the poison doesn't seem to affect the PLA at all.

Update May 2018 - I had a request for a smaller opening to prevent bee's from getting to the borax solution. I've added a additional bottom with a higher pot so that it comes closer to the top to prevent bee access. (bottom-revised-nobee.stl)

Print instructions

Category: Outdoor & Garden
