Ant Trap
thingiverse
I discovered that purchasing ant-traps often resulted in excessive amounts of Ant bait/poison fluid. These expensive traps were also often not reusable due to their flimsy design. In response, I created a solution consisting of small widgets featuring a dimple that can hold a few drops of the bait. The lid on these widgets is designed to be easily removable by pushing it; some minor sanding may be necessary to ensure they come off smoothly. This feature prevents rain from washing away the bait and keeps larger animals out. I manufacture my widgets using ABS, but PLA should also work well; however, if you plan to use them indoors with PLA, apply a small amount of varnish to the inner surface to prevent fluid seepage. For those without access to Ant bait/poison fluid, a Borax/Sugar solution can be used as an alternative.
