Another spherebot eggbot armature
thingiverse
I began with the revised fully printable eggbot located here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:20398 The servos in hand didn't fit well, so they had to work harder than expected. There was also backlash in the original pen design that could only be fixed by crushing the pen. This led to some adjustments being made to the pen holder. Instructions for making an eggbot include attaching these parts instead of the originals. Before slicing, these parts must be rotated in and support is needed for the servo. My main goal was to remove as much backlash as possible and create a more accurate eggbot. This project serves as an upgrade to Glasswalker's eggbot pen arm. A better description might be that this design specializes in the original one. The shaft mount isn't included, but I'm still using the original one. The pen securing bolts and nuts are M3 x 8-sized, making a nut unnecessary because they fit snugly enough on their own. The slider bolt slot is also M3-sized. A normal sharpie won't fit through the pen aperture, but it will accommodate an art-type ink pen or a Sharpie Fine. The servo mount is designed for a 9G hobby servo that can be purchased for $3 at an RC store.
