Another Ender 3 spring tensioner
thingiverse
I've designed another iteration of a spring tensioner specifically tailored for the Ender 3 extruder drive, aimed at resolving issues with filament slip and grinding. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that the spring had developed a slight bend which in turn reduced longitudinal pressure, resulting in this problem. This modified tensioner effectively minimizes lateral play. Moreover, it incorporates a hole to accommodate the spring guide screw, enabling some degree of adjustability to fine-tune its performance. Two versions are included - one measuring 15mm in length (which worked perfectly for me) and another measuring 14mm if the longer version proves troublesome. For optimal results, I recommend using a fairly high infill setting to ensure sufficient strength. Although it may be somewhat challenging to install, this tensioner has successfully addressed my filament slipping issues.
