I store my printer, along with my motorcycles, and to keep the filament clean, I need it away from dust and oil caused by maintenance messes. A regular Tupperware container is all you need - a common 15 cup tub will suffice. The side supports are held together with M3-M4 size bolts and nuts available at any hardware store. Paper towels fill the top to slow down spool release, while desiccant packets keep everything dry. I attach it below the corner so filament flows smoothly through my da Vinci printer's top feed perfectly. The storage is made of 1/2 inch PVC, with an extra space for a partial spool during quick print runs.
