Another Anet Nozzle Cleaning Brush Mount
thingiverse
I really loved Sloppsta's idea of incorporating a nozzle cleaning brush into my 3D printer setup, which I stumbled upon on https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2355355. However, I encountered an issue with the design that made it unsuitable for my setup. I had already installed a hotbed strain relief mount (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2474429) bolted to the rear of the two bearing block mounts on the bed holder, so I couldn't utilize the original brush position. I had previously designed and printed some custom "corners" for my bed, which serve as holders for the spring and a captive nut. The bed's thread has been drilled out, allowing me to adjust the bed height using a thumb wheel. Three of these corner pieces feature screws that secure a 3mm glass sheet in place, while the final one, which I refer to as the "home corner," holds the nozzle back to its original position. This corner bracket is positioned lower than the others, ensuring it doesn't obstruct the glass. I thought it would be an exciting project to integrate Sloppsta's brush holder idea into this home-corner piece. One advantage of mounting it in this location is that the brush height remains consistent even after re-leveling the bed. The OpenSCAD design file has been included, allowing you to modify the design to suit any reasonably sized brush head as an alternative. Considering your specific needs, you may want to use a heat-resistant filament instead of PLA. I printed my corners and the brush holder using PETG, which seems to be suitable for my bed at 80'C. A picture of the brushes I purchased from eBay for a couple of pounds is included, giving you an idea of the type I used. I simply hacksawed off the plastic handle to create a compact design. Additionally, I've provided a short G-code file demonstrating how to move the nozzle back and forth across the brush head to clean it. Please note that you'll need to verify and adjust this script to suit your unique setup.
