Mausoleum: It stands as the most significant component of Anıtkabir. Accessible by 42-step stairs from the Ceremonial Plaza, the Mausoleum itself forms a rectangular structure with two distinct levels. This section became a focal point during construction due to its central location within Atatürk's tomb room and symbolic sarcophagus. As a result, architects of Anıtkabir gave particular attention to making the Mausoleum even more impressive than other structures within the complex. The exterior walls of the ground floor are designed as massive blocks in the shape of truncated pyramids, giving the lower section a castle-like appearance. The outer walls with small windows are constructed from concrete and covered with travertine on their outer surface. Atatürk's body is interred in a tomb dug directly into this floor. The Hall of Honor, situated beneath the symbolic sarcophagus on the first floor of the Mausoleum, features an octagonal design inspired by Seljuk and Ottoman tomb architecture, complete with a pyramidal ceiling adorned with geometric patterns and mosaics. The floor and walls are covered in red, black, and white marbles. At the center of the tomb room stands a red marble sarcophagus facing towards kiblah, surrounded by vases made from brass containing soil brought from Azerbaijan, Northern Cyprus, and all provinces within Turkey. The Hall of Honor, on the first floor of the Mausoleum, is surrounded by tetragon pillars on its four sides. There are eight pillars along the front and rear, while fourteen pillars line the lateral sides. Square-shaped pillars constructed from concrete are covered in travertine. Bronze doors greet visitors at the entrance to the Hall of Honor, where a section featuring the sarcophagus is enclosed within a niche containing a large window across the entryway. This area is covered with white Afyon marble. The walls of the Hall of Honor itself are adorned with marbles sourced from Adana and Hatay, while marbles in the floor come from Afyon and Bilecik. Marble colors vary between black, red, green, and tiger skin hues. Rectangular galleries are situated on both sides of the Hall of Honor. The roofs of these galleries feature 9 interior cross vaults. The roof of the hall itself, composed of 27 girders, is ornamented with mosaics, as is the roof of the galleries. Measuring 17 meters in height, the Hall of Honor boasts six bronze torches mounted on its lateral walls. A flat lead roof covers the upper side of the Mausoleum structure.
