The Anio Novus aqueduct is a remarkably short Roman water conduit, extending almost 87 kilometers. The longest route of all, it measures approximately 73 kilometers beneath the surface and an additional 14 kilometers above ground. Seven kilometers of its surface route overlaps with the arches of the Aquae Claudia aqueduct, which starts at the VII mile marker on the Via Latina.
