Animation of "Atlas céleste de Flamstéed" 1776
sketchfab
This is the model of a book preserved at INAF's Palermo Astronomical Observatory, Historical Library, titled "Atlas Céleste de Flamstéd". It presents a missing page from table 10 and on the flyleaf anteriorly there is the ex-libris of Giuseppe Piazzi, the first director of Palermo's Observatory from 1790 to 1826. An ex-libris, or bookplate, is a small print inside a book's cover to express ownership. Books were considered highly prestigious objects to own and therefore some ex-libris are decorated with fabulous images. Textures come from il Portale dei Beni Culturali INAF "Polvere di Stelle".
