I was working on my second submission/version of a first-ever Maya project as part of a college Game Design curriculum. The initial goal was to learn about spheres and get familiar with navigation and basic tools like translate, rotate, scale, set project terminology and more. As I progressed through the course, we revised our projects to include keying and simple animation along with grouping and parenting techniques. To add realism to my scene, I scaled the planets proportionately using data from Wikipedia detailing each body's diameter as a multiple of Earth's diameter. Distances and orbit speeds were left open for creative liberties, ensuring the scene wouldn't become too large to navigate. I also experimented with adding textures beyond the assignment scope, utilizing free resources acquired from this genius source. This revised version differs from my original Maya scene in several areas, including post-processing and lighting techniques which I have yet to master, as well as some text face issues.
