Animated Model-Cockspur Island Lighthouse

The University of South Florida Libraries' Digital Heritage and Humanities Collections team joined forces with the National Park Service's Southeast Archeological Center to conduct a thorough 3D digital heritage survey of the Cockspur Island lighthouse at Fort Pulaski, Georgia in 2018. This collaborative project utilized cutting-edge technology to meticulously document the precarious site's conditions, gathering vital data that was then used to develop sophisticated metrological models, GIS assessments, and in-depth sectional analyses. On-site technicians expertly collected a wealth of information using terrestrial laser scanning, photogrammetry, and GPS data collection methods.
