Animated Halloween Prop
thingiverse
The creator designed a prop for a haunted house, drawing inspiration from Halloween store animatronics and the movie 'Poltergeist'. They posted a YouTube video demonstrating its operation along with behind-the-scenes footage from construction. The project required 3D printed parts (some adjustments may be needed to fit specific motors), a motor (Hi Tec HS-422 Deluxe continuous servo used here), two switches, an LED-lit skull (Thingiverse's thing 27944), two bright tri-color LEDs, a button or activation mechanism, an Arduino UNO, and an MP3 player (SparkFun's model 8849 was used). The concept was largely inspired by various Thingiverse creations, with minimal original ideas incorporated. Wiring schematics aren't provided as they should be customized to the specific setup. Key components include motor/servo control for forward/backward movement, two switches for head rotation stop commands, an activation button, MP3 player controls, and LED management.
