Animal mix n match Put a chicken leg in place of the crocodile head, a pig tail in place of its leg. Make the most absurd creature possible! Printing Head: steve_head.stl (skin colour) x1 steve_hair.stl (black) x1 steve_eye.stl (white, switch to blue half way) x2 Body: steve_body.stl (sky blue) x2 Legs: steve_leg.stl (grey, switch to blue at 6.4mm) x2 Arms: steve_arm.stl (skin colour) x2 The arm STL have a hole in the hand with 0.2mm clearance. You can alternatively print the steve_arm_0.3mm_clearance.stl file, if your printer struggles with tight clearances. NOTE: To have blue shoulders, you can change the print orientation to have the arms point up, print with sky blue colour up to 12.8mm then change to skin colour. You will need to print with supports, or at least with brim to print the ball joint properly. Tools (optional): steve_pickaxe.stl (grey) x1 steve_sword.stl (grey) x1 Assembly Press the eyes in the eye sockets. Be careful of the orientation. You wont be able to get it out. Put hair on top of the head. Put tools in hand. It they are too tight, sand the handle until it can be put it the hand and removed without excessive force. Put the 2 body halves together and join them with small rubber bands. Clip body parts to the body, have fun! How I Designed This I was planing to design a chicken next, but I'm running out of time. I will be away from my printer for a few weeks. So I decided to design a simple one. Steve is made of blocks, how hard it would be to design? I was not too happy about the look of the head. Drawing on plastic with a sharpy doesn't give good results. So I found a way to give him hair (it's more like a wig since it can be removed), and tiny eyes that press-fit in eyes sockets. It looks much better now. I added the sword and pickaxe, because it's not really "Steve" without its tools. If you are planing to modify the design, you will need at least OpenSCAD ver 2019.05 to be able to load the SVG files used for the tools. Category: Games
