Angular Calibration Items (twisted cube and pillar)
thingiverse
I made these models to test my Makerbot 2X, which was acting up at the time. It's perfect for testing sharp corners and flat surfaces. The OpenSCAD files that are pictured look distorted and hollow, but they're actually fine if you render them correctly! How I Designed This: I linearly extruded and twisted a square in OpenSCAD with low resolution settings (between 2 and 6 slices) to create a satisfyingly angular design rather than a smooth one.
