The original sculpture was created using Sculptris software, resulting in a high-resolution mesh. It has been printed on Shapeways with the powder sintering technique. An updated model now includes support structures, making it compatible with most popular extrusion printers. I've had mine printed at Shapeways in both white and translucent materials.
