The Saxon Era Church Design Project is a unique opportunity to bring ancient architectural traditions into modern times, inspired by the Escomb Saxon Church's enduring presence on the British landscape. For this university assignment, we aim to recreate the spirit of Saxon-era ecclesiastical design, blending traditional craftsmanship with innovative materials and techniques. Our goal is to create a 21st-century interpretation that honors the past while embracing the needs of contemporary worship communities. By drawing from the Escomb Saxon Church's historic framework, we can explore new possibilities for church architecture, incorporating elements such as stone carvings, wooden furnishings, and stained glass windows. This project will not only showcase our understanding of Saxon-era design principles but also demonstrate our ability to adapt these traditions to meet the changing needs of modern congregations.
