Angled Pillow Block
thingiverse
To create a portable and sturdy printer, mount your filament spool using two angled rod holders on top of an OpenBeam Rostock. This design allows you to grab the entire printer and transport it easily. The curved filament path ensures smooth feeding into the extruder. These angled rod holders are useful in various setups, including mounting rods at an angle to beams. For a triangular printer, use 30% default angle. Print two of these holders and fix them on beams with loose bolts for adjustment. Add bearing inserts to your filament spool, and slide it onto the 8mm or 5/16 threaded rod. Finally, place the rod through angled pillow blocks and tighten them. Optional: drill a small hole for a grub screw to secure the rod further.
