This adapter screws onto a standard photography tripod or directly onto the original Rift sensor stand. Its design ensures that the sensor gets better coverage downwards, especially when positioned in a high corner. I added an intentional "kink" or offset to keep the correct center of gravity intact, but in hindsight, it wouldn't have made a significant difference due to the sensors' light weight. EDIT: The r4 model, not shown in photos, is slightly shorter with less offset, which helps compensate for cable weight.
