Angle Taker - Easy way to take an angle in tight spaces
thingiverse
If you've ever needed to take an angle in a space that regular tools can't get into, this could be your solution. This "Angle Taker" is designed to take angles in confined spaces with precision and accuracy. It is printed in two parts (one file) that fit together snugly under a small amount of tension, holding the angle firmly in place when the base part is placed on a flat surface. The rotating part aligns with the surface you want to determine the angle of. It fits into very tight spaces without requiring any tools to tighten a lock. Place it on a protractor or use your Smart Phone with an angle measuring App to find out the angle taken. This is a very handy little tool that will get the job done. If the tension ever wears down, preventing it from holding an angle any longer, simply print another one. Please note that there are two versions available: one 2-Part version requiring installation of the arm post and printing it separately, and a One Part version that prints the two parts together in one go, saving assembly time. However, this also demands strong build plate adhesion to prevent the rotating center part from rotating during printing. For best results, print on a Replicator 2 with raft, 3 shells and 35% fill, which should provide sufficient strength for such a small device despite its compact size.
