An angle grinder, or side grinder, is a versatile handheld power tool employed for grinding and polishing tasks. It can be fueled by an electric motor, petrol engine, or compressed air. The gear-driven head at a 90-degree angle houses either an abrasive disc or a thinner cut-off disc, both of which are replaceable upon wear. Angle grinders often feature an adjustable guard and a side handle for safe two-handed operation. In certain speed ranges, they can also function as sanders when fitted with a sanding disc and backing pad or disc. Preferred in metalworking shops, construction sites, and machine shops alongside die grinders and bench grinders, angle grinders are indispensable tools for professionals.
