Angkor Wat is a religious monument located in the city of Angkor Thom, Siem Reap Province, Cambodia. It was built during the reign of King Suryavarman II[1] at the beginning of the 12th century. Originally, Angkor Wat was a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu, but it later became a Buddhist temple. Angkor Wat is the largest religious structure in the world and represents the pinnacle of Khmer architecture during its golden age. It has become an iconic symbol of Cambodia[3], appearing on the country's flag and being a major tourist destination. Angkor Wat was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992 under the name "Angkor".
