Fossilized remnants of angiosperm Cercidiphyllum genesevianam and other related plant fossils have been discovered in the Paleocene deposits of Alberta, Canada. The living species of Cercidiphyllum, commonly known as katsura trees, are indigenous to Japan but can also be found in cultivation elsewhere around the world. Leaves associated with Cercidiphyllum exhibit coniferous branchlets. This specimen originates from the esteemed Cornell University Paleobotanical Collection (CUPC), housed at Ithaca, New York (#2082). The length of this fossilized leaf measures approximately 13.5 centimeters.
