As indicated by the name, it is a 20-meter-tall steel sculpture of an angel with a wingspan of 54 meters in height. In comparison, its width exceeds the height of the Statue of Liberty. The wings are not flat, but form a curve of 3.5 degrees towards the front. The sculptor wanted to create an impression of embracing. The sculpture is located on a hill overlooking the A1 and A167 traffic routes of Tyneside, along the main East Coast railway line.
