This modular shading structure, named anforme, comprises laser-cut 3mm MDF pieces that incorporate lighting devices and recycled plastic bottles for enhanced functionality. Ideal for urban settings or private spaces like patios, gardens, and terraces, it can be personalized to suit individual preferences. Developed by a team including Verónica Carreño Naranjo, Gabriela Massa Ascui, and Silvia Sáez Iglesias under the tutelage of Areti Nikolopoulou and Jose Pérez de Lama at "The Commons Factory: Plug Ins at Santa Ana" workshop in Madrid (October 18-25, 2010), anforme's design is site-specific but also adaptable to multiple circumstances. The cutting files, compatible with Rhino software and in DXF format, provide instructions for assembling the structure and installing lighting elements and bottles in pre-designated positions. It can be hung from a tree or lamppost for optimal use. Assembly drawings will be uploaded shortly.
