Anet Full Graphics Display Mount for A8
thingiverse
I swapped out the display on my A8 for one that's identical to the one found on the A6, which can be purchased online for around $15 under the name "Anet full graphics display". I opted for the case/adapter made by Alkozin to fit it onto the stock A8 frame. However, this setup sticks out far enough to collide with the X gantry when raised high and limits the build volume height. I created these additional parts to raise the display slightly and give you more flexibility in using it. The front cover is a direct copy of Alkozin's design; I included it for completeness' sake. The rear cover screws onto the back of this front cover, encasing the display board inside with a cutout for plugging in serial cables. It also features a GoPro-style mount built right in, allowing you to attach it to any standard camera mounts you may already have, which opens up nearly endless possibilities for mounting the display panel. I've also designed the "base" piece that bolts onto the stock A8 frame using the holes meant for the old stock display. This base covers the leftover holes and includes a GoPro-style mount for attaching the display if desired. You'll need a bolt and nut from a GoPro mount to attach these two parts together. In my photos, you can see I used some GoPro mounting arms to extend my display upwards and provide more flexibility in positioning it. This setup gives me ample clearance around my extruder assembly, which is taller than the stock A8 setup to achieve a full 240mm build height if needed. I printed these parts at a layer height of 0.2mm with 20% infill using eSun PLA Pro. Note that the display is plug-and-play with the stock Anet board; however, you will need to adjust some settings in the firmware. Since I was running Marlin on my board, it was a quick and easy change in configuration and flashing to get it working.
