Several new bolts are required to assemble the Direct Drive Extruder for Anet ET4. M3x30mm bolts in pairs are needed for the motor, one M3x14-15mm bolt is necessary for the extruder handle, and a single M3x12 bolt plus a nut are required for the shroud and new part. To ensure successful assembly, it's advisable to first print "Direct Drive I" which converts the printer to direct drive mode. Subsequently, printing "Direct Drive II" gcode file will finalize the conversion. To achieve maximum strength and minimize bending of the part when the motor pushes filament, the top and bottom layers should be printed with six lines each, oriented vertically. The provided gcode is specifically designed for PETG materials, featuring six layers on top and bottom, a retraction speed of 30mm, and a retraction distance of 2mm. Additionally, it's essential to extend the motor and key cables, as well as reverse the direction of the stepper motor by exchanging two wires, a process that can be easily found online with numerous resources available. The result is a significantly improved printer performance compared to its previous state.
