ANET E12 Direct Drive, V6, BLTouch, MGN12H X-Carriage
thingiverse
I'm tired of my old bowden extruder and hot end on the E12, which kept getting clogged over and over again, so I decided to upgrade to direct drive and V6 hot end! Since I already had the MGN12 linear rail installed, I created this X-Carriage to support the new stepper motor and hot end. Plus, I finally want auto bed leveling, so I integrated a BLTouch mount. Stepper Motor: 1. Extend the stepper cable by about 400mm. 2. Invert extruder stepper direction (flip wires with extension cable or via software). I installed TH3D for the BLTouch anyway, so I flipped it there. 3. Use 3x M3x25 bolts to install the stepper and extruder; M3x30 might work too. There are two ways to mount the belts: 1. Over the outer side, held by zip ties. 2. Using the hole, bend belt on itself and insert M3x15 bolt. Install tensioner to secure belts and make them more parallel. Hot End: 1. Use 2x M4x20 bolts to fasten the V6 hotend. Insert nuts before installing on MGN12H. 2. Use short PTFE tube from hotend to extruder. Tensioner Bolts are 3x M4x20; insert nuts before installing on MGN12H. BLTouch: 8.13mm offset from nozzle; I had to adjust a bit via software. Nozzle-probe offset values: X+35, Y+5. Remember to use cable support over the BLTouch to remove strain from components. Make sure you have enough cable length for all components before starting prints; you'll need to extend some of them.
