ANET E12 Direct drive conversion
thingiverse
As I grew increasingly exasperated with the incessant clicking sounds emanating from my extruder, I took matters into my own hands and designed a new component to convert this setup to a direct drive system. This modified part will seamlessly integrate with the Anet E12, utilizing its small round wheels without any modifications required. The design prints flawlessly with no supports whatsoever, lying flat on its backside once complete. To install this upgrade on your machine, you'll need approximately 500mm of new wiring for your stepper motor. Simply reverse the motor by swapping the wires, and you're good to go. In my setup, the PTFE tube measures 45.1mm, but feel free to adjust according to the couplers you have on hand. This direct drive upgrade took around 2 ½ hours to print at a speed of 60mm/s using PLA. I'm planning to print an additional one in PETG to enhance its strength and durability against heat, but so far, this design appears more than sufficient. If you have any suggestions to further improve this design, please don't hesitate to share them – I'm eager to hear your ideas! Sorry for the cluttered workspace, and forgive my imperfect English.
