Z axis sync solution for Anet A8 printers Problem: the two z axis screws can easily become miss-aligned. Any pressure on one side will create an offset, requiring the other side to be adjusted every time you print. Solution: Sync the two screws with a pulley and belt system. You will need two bearings (688ZZ, 16x8x5mm), couple of M3 nuts and screws, and 800mm of 6mm GT2 drive belt, same as used on the x and y axis. Get the fibre reinforced belt, not the steel reinforced, and cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Or you can buy a closed loop belt, 400t (800mm). As an alternative to the printed pulleys, you can buy 8mm bore GT2 pulleys for little money. You will lose a little Z height, but if you really need to print something big you can easily remove the belt and pulleys. I started using this in February 2017, has been faultless since. Nearly 4 years now.
